About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an IWT (Integrated Work Team) Manager/Superintendent HVAC to join our Program based at Osborne, South Australia reporting to the Program Manager - Production Subcontracts.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for running projects/areas within a manufacturing environment in accordance with the developed plan. This position will be required to organise supervisors in different streams, subcontractors and trades resources to complete activities and tasks for specific projects. It will ensure all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly of components are produced in the most cost effective way whilst maintaining an efficient use of resources and meeting all safety, design, quality and budget requirements.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Responsible for day to day management of team including activities in the workshop and/or on board ship
- Implementing resource planning as needed of the Integrated Work Team and relevant appointed subcontractor/partners for in yard scope
- Plan, manage and execute the delivery of production outputs to the required standard with Engineering/Quality specifications, as agreed with stakeholders.
- Deliver a positive and productive industrial environment, through effective leadership of all team members.
- Plan and manage the resource requirements with IWT Management team, Subcontractors and Ship Coordinators for the HVAC daily schedule and quality activities
- Liaise with the Subcontract HVAC Manager to ensure trade performance are monitored and maintain in line with contract scope deliverable and milestones are achieved
- Input competency based training matrix for HVAC Subcontractor
- Characterization and familiarization of new Adelaide Shipyard facility and provide gap analysis for production and productivity improvements
- Improve the Production team capability, by identifying and developing team members to take up future leadership roles.
- Provide reports on production activities, including progress against plans, and cost performance reporting
- Review Manufacturing Instructions, handbooks, process and tools for Subcontract HVAC scope
- Coordinate work activities, facilitate running of meetings, control activities of teams, and provide training and use of work instructions, procedures, work steps and work orders
- Provide support when needed across other IWT portfolios e.g. Insulation/Habitation/Blast & Paint
About YOU
- Demonstrated experience in a people management position in previous role
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders, customers and members of the Operations team
- Provide additional support to cross the IWT panel where and when needed
- Intermediate MS Office Skills and experience in support systems e.g. Oracle, Aveva, Foran and Windchill
