**Sydney, South Eastern Sydney and North Sydney District (SSESNS)**
**Salary: Clerk Grade 9 - $120,859 to $124,258 pa + Superannuation and Leave Loading per year of service.**
SSESNS District is undertaking a Government Sector Employment (GSE) compliant MCW recruitment process to create a talent pool to fill vacancies across the district.
**You will be responsible for**:
As a Manager Casework, you will lead and supervise a team of caseworkers engaged in delivering child protection and Out of Home Care services to vulnerable families.
- Managing a team of practitioners to assess and create safety for children reported at risk of significant harm.
- Leading and influencing quality casework practice that is undertaken through a cultural lens, with family and Community participation at the forefront of decision making.
- Initiating court proceedings as the official applicant and providing support and guidance to caseworkers
- Leading the case management of Aboriginal children that keeps them connected to their culture and family.
- Leading effective group supervision as well as individual supervision and casework coaching.
- Preparing and reviewing documentation, briefings and correspondence on care and protection issues.
- Building collaborative local and interagency practices, including with local Aboriginal services and Community.
**To be successful in this role you will have the following**:
- The ability to manage high client demand and making judgements on risk and client allocation in complex and challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across a number of stakeholders, including most importantly, Aboriginal families.
- The ability to maintain and manage positive relationships as well as strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- The ability to create and lead a strong positive team culture that focuses on learning and continuous improvement.
**What we’re looking for**
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare or a related discipline
- Experience leading and managing teams in complex and challenging situations.
- A demonstrated understanding of trauma informed care and the impact poverty, trauma and violence has on children and their families.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
