**About the Opportunity**

The Chapter Lead - Business Analysis is a member of a Group Technology and provides analytical capabilities to solving problems, break up of work and supports the broader Technology Team in delivering solutions to solve customer and business problems. The Chapter Lead - Business Analysis also supports the Product Owner in maintaining and optimising the initiative and epic product backlog in line with business prioritisation.

It is important to ensure that the Chapter Lead - Business Analysis provides a framework for the team that supports and facilitates a collaborative approach between the business, external vendors and squads to deliver targeted solutions.

The Chapter Lead is a capability expert and is a servant leader for their Chapter members. Their primary function is to build the relevant capability necessary to deliver value to the Tribes through coaching and supporting the development of Chapter Members. The Chapter Lead will also support the Chapter to establish and maintain standards to ensure quality delivery of their capability across the organisation.

**A day in the life of a Chapter Lead - Business Analysis**:

- Analysis Responsibilities_
- Assisting the Product Owner with the build and formulation of the Squad Backlog
- Working with business and stakeholders to understand problems and outcomes
- Working with the Product Owner and the Squad to test, document and communicate solution options
- Ensuring the stories created by the squads are of good quality, eg. size, include a persona, acceptance criteria and can be tested (both functionally and non functionally).
- Supports the Product Owner and Squad in iterating the items in the Backlog through the provision of analysis practices.
- Working closely with business and technical partner to understand customer and business problems to translate into Epics/User Stories (e.g. functional or non-functional requirements) in partnership with squads
- Engagement with Subject Matter Experts and other Tribes/Squads who can support the Squad during solution delivery and facilitation of their involvement
- Ensuring that the business and organisational implications of day-to-day evolution of the solution are properly modelled and thought through
- Ensuring the impact of decisions are reviewed in the context of the customer, vision, and tribal purpose / mission.
- Ensuring the business and technical components of the solution collectively provide the outcome for the customer
- Liaising with the team to ensure they have access to the right information from the customer and stakeholders at the right time, in order to assist the development of the solution and know that it will achieve the outcome.
- Chapter Lead Responsibities_
- Responsible for ensuring full participation of all Chapter members in the delivery of value through the Tribal Model
- Collaborates with Tribal Leads and Product Owners to define the capability needs of the Tribes and takes ownership of establishing this through development, training, coaching etc.
- Works with Product Owners & Delivery Leads (Scrum Masters), and if necessary, management team, to remove impediments from the Chapter function
- Ensures that the Chapter members are working on items that the Product Owner of their squad, has prioritised
- Provision of Chapter level reporting using defined standards
- Application of the Agile & Scrum values and principles
- Responsible for ensuring Chapter norms and standards are understood and followed by their members
- Enables close cooperation across all roles and functions within the Chapter
- Participates when required Inception workshops, to enable decomposition and planning
- Facilitate discussion to resolve conflict within the Chapter
- Coach Chapter Members in the capability discipline to be empowered and self-organised
- Assists Tribes & Squads when they require recruitment and/or growing of Chapter aligned capabilities
- Line Management of Chapter Members
- Maintains connection with external industry developments for potential opportunities in capability development
