**About Us**

Born on 1 July 2020, UNSA is a not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to positively impact the student experience at the University of Newcastle in matters related to educational experience, welfare and wellbeing, and by providing a range of activities, extra-curricular events and out-of-class engagement opportunities.

UNSA has a Student Representative Council (SRC), made up of 19 student representatives. Three external Directors and the six SRC Executive members make up the UNSA Board. We provide services across ALL (onshore) University of Newcastle campuses including online. While we are affiliated with the University of Newcastle, we are a completely separate legal entity and company.

**Manager (Clubs & Societies) Role**

The Manager (Clubs & Societies) will:

- Plan, implement and deliver a schedule of large-scale club collaborative events and routine UNSA club events in line with the University of Newcastle Clubs Strategic Plan.
- Plan for and report how the Clubs’ Strategic Plan will be executed, measured, and evaluated.
- Plan and implement comprehensive training packages including club governance.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive schedule for UNSA club events and routine collaboration events.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external partners including UNSA clubs’, student representatives, UNSA staff and university staff while supporting clubs to also develop these relationships.
- Work with the CEO and Clubs staff to increase UNSA and UNSA clubs’ presence at university events and festivals
- Support and advise clubs of safety practices, risk management and reporting.

This role is located at the University of Newcastle Callaghan Campus _(located on Awabakal land)_ may require travel between campuses on occasion (Newcastle, Central Coast and Sydney).

**Essential Criteria**
- Previous experience working within a similar role with a strong focus on events planning and delivery
- Well-developed understanding of Club Governance requirements and club needs
- Proven ability in planning and delivery of high-quality engagement programs, supports or events in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of reporting requirements, with knowledge of UNSA, University & legislative requirements
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work to meet priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem-solve and think critically
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent attention to detail
- The ability to form productive working relationships within a small and agile team
- Previous experience managing a small team of staff, including all aspects of the life cycle of employment

**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous experience working in a University environment

**Qualifications/Certificates/Licences**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Events or similar
- First Aid Certificate
- National Police Check
- NSW Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle for travel between campuses and events

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
