About the role
The Ward Assistant (WA) is like a Personal Care Assistant and will be working full-time at Cabrini Brighton. The Ward Assistant role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The ward is Ground South and is a consists of Orthopaedic / Rehabilitation patients across 27 beds.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with the nutritional needs of patients.- Assisting our patients when required.- Restocking, cleaning and helping the team.- Maintaining a safe patient working environment and upkeep of patient equipment.- Maintaining patient privacy and dignity, and responding to their emotional, spiritual and cultural needs.
About you
This role will suit an individual who has proven experience in providing patient care.
You will have:
- Previous experience as a PCA/WA (preferred).- Food handling experience.- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, whilst being reliable and punctual.- Highly developed communication skills, and have the capacity to develop trusting relationships with patients.- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues.

Cabrini is a healthcare provider that is captured by the COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination requirements released by the Victorian government. It is a condition of employment that all staff receive the required vaccines, unless they have a relevant medical exemption. Vaccination evidence or evidence of a medical contraindication must be provided prior to commencement.

As per Cabrini policy, a mandatory copy of a current (under 12 months) police record check must be provided prior to the commencement date.
