**What you'll be doing**
- The Advanced Trainee will, under supervision, provide effective medical services within a patient-centric geriatric model of care to patients, while developing expertise in Geriatrician-led interdisciplinary care and management practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Advanced Trainee will have the opportunity to rotate through subspecialty modules within Geriatric Medicine including orthogeriatrics, psychogeriatrics, and the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) as well as acute and subacute patient care. In addition, one of the rotations is designed to facilitate the care of patients in residential aged care facilities using e-health to reduce unnecessary hospitalisations and ED presentations.

**Where you'll be working**
This position is accredited with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the appointment can be made for up to two years. The position may involve a rotation to Shoalhaven which will include community and outreach plus acute inpatients and orthogeriatrics.
Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. The applicant must be certified as compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (nsw.gov.au) before employment can commence.
**Please note**: Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Demonstrated commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine and previous experience in Aged Care Medicine
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education as well as a willingness to teach and support junior medical staff
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
- Completion of at least four postgraduate years and successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent, and be eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Aged Care in Australia;
