**About the role**
The Manager, Internal Communication drives impactful internal communication strategies and channels to engage and support staff. By optimising the use of digital channels and providing expert advice, the incumbent will help streamline and improve communication with schools and Education support staff. They will also lead a talented Internal Communication team, fostering culture of excellence and continuously championing audience-focused improvements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Managing internal communication governance and scheduling for the department, focusing on staff receiving the right message at the right time in the best possible way.
- Overseeing and crafting effective and compelling written and digital materials to empower leadership to convey key strategic priorities and message that resonates across the organisation.
- Maintaining relationships with key stakeholder groups, providing proactive support.
- Provide expert advice on high-priority employee facing projects and programs.
- Use data-driven insights to create integrated communication plans.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Demonstrated professional skills and expertise in strategic communications and supporting and directing teams in communication activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Holds Working with Children Check for paid employment.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

- Proven leadership experience and track record to drive team excellence.
- Experience using online marketing platform and programs (such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp)
- Skilful at navigating multiple competing priorities and timelines.
- Ability to maintain relationship with key stakeholders to deliver effective communications.
- Proactive, creative and results-oriented with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with an eye for crating compelling content.
