**Position Purpose**:
Join our high energy and fast paced team as a Work Health and Safety (WHS) & Injury Advisor to play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety first. Collaborate with all teams within the organization to deliver a compliant and effective work health and safety management system. Take charge of the injury management process from open to close for both work-related and non-work-related injuries, ensuring a seamless and supportive return to work for all employees.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Maintain a compliant work health and safety management system, including updated policies, ongoing stakeholder consultation, and continuous safety training.
- Lead safety initiatives by addressing concerns, investigating hazards, and reporting findings to key stakeholders.
- Assist employees, managers, contractors, and visitors with safety-related queries and provide regular safety metrics reports.
- Update and maintain WHS risk registers for all RSPCA NSW sites.
- Lead WHS committees and coach on-site safety leaders for effective safety management.
- Review and develop Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tasks requiring safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits across all sites, escalating and rectifying concerns promptly.
- Develop and deliver monthly safety reports to the senior leadership team.
**Injury Management**:
- Manage the entire injury management process from incident notification to claim closure.
- Collaborate with insurer claims teams, driving actions at claims review meetings, and supporting injured workers and their managers throughout the process.
- Create and update task analyses for roles using insurer and rehabilitation contacts.
- Build strong relationships with workers' compensation stakeholders for successful outcomes.
**Other Responsibilities**:
- Manage non-work-related injuries efficiently to meet the needs of the business and the injured worker.
- Provide support to the HR team for reporting and other administrative tasks.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- WHS qualification or Injury Management qualification
- Considered experience in managing WHS management system in a fast-paced environmentHands on approach to help and coach line managers and employees
- Demonstrated experience partnering with key stakeholders to drive safety outcomes
- Knowledge of workers compensation legislation
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a calm manner & Work autonomously
- Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Ability to influence decisions across all levels of the business
- Ability to lead safety initiatives and foster a safety culture.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Willing to learn and go outside your comfort zone
