**About the role**
This is a permanent, full time, working **38 hours** per week. Located at the **Nowra Administration Building**.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor - Ranger, the focus of this position is to:
- Provide leadership and guidance and mentor the Assistant Rangers and Rangers.
- Undertake law enforcement and educational programs.
- Work independently to resolve complex issues. Adding Value and Completing Position Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all communication provided is correct, factual, timely, customer-focused and in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements and Council procedures.
- Ensures the Supervisor or Coordinator is aware of difficult/sensitive issues which arise.
- Shares information within the work group to ensure others are kept informed of issues. Achieving
- Ensures work and behaviour adds value to the business of Council, within area of responsibility and corporately. Makes recommendations on improving practices and procedures relevant to functional responsibilities.
- Behaves and works in a manner which demonstrates the Rangers team as a focused, professional and reliable service
**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policy.Animal microchipping certification, or ability to obtain necessary certification.
- Eligible for Justice of the Peace appointment.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to work without supervision.
Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
