**About the role**

Our canteen is run on a not-for-profit basis. The manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including designing a fun and healthy (seasonal) menu, ordering food supplies, preparing and serving both hot and cold food, managing inventory and finances, managing a team of volunteers and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are met.

The canteen will operate three days per week and for special events.

Our manager will work closely with the P&C to ensure the menu meets nutritional guidelines and aligns with the schools values and policies around healthy eating. They will report back to the P&C in at their monthly meetings.

The canteen manager plays an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our students. Our manager will need to have strong organisational skills, an understanding of food and safety regulations and a commitment to providing healthy and nutritious food to our students.

- Relevant safe food handling qualifications including Food Safety Supervisor certificate & Mandatory Food Safety training
- Australian Government DoH COVID-19 infection control training
- A Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Experience cooking and packaging food in a busy environment
- Experience with online ordering systems, cash handling and basic accounting
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical contraindication certificate
- First Aid certificate including anaphylaxis and asthma training (or willingness to complete prior to employment).

Experience in setting up a school canteen is an advantage.

**Note**:We are also seeking a uniform shop manager and are open to include this as part of the canteen managers. Read on if this is of interest.

**Uniform Shop Coordinator**

The Uniform Shop Coordinator manages all aspects of running the shop, including managing volunteers with the support of the P&C. It is estimated that this would take an additional 4-6 hours a week.

Responsibilities include:

- Monitor stock levels and replenish as necessary
- Receive deliveries and check accuracy of shipment; restock shelves
- Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, particularly on custom made items (polo shirts because of school logo embroidery; summer and winter dresses) and keep this in mind when ordering and planning ahead for change of uniform (summer to winter in Term 2 and winter to summer in Term 4)
- Monitor any supplier price changes and make decisions on when/if to change our shop prices
- Maintain Qkr shop (information to parents, stock level tracking)
- Customer service - exchanges and refunds as necessary
- Weekly - print order reports and pack orders (with the help of volunteer/s); send these packages to the school office for distribution to students
- Set up supplier invoice payments in Commbank for co-authorisation by the P&C Treasurer or other authorised P&C executive
- Manually process orders where customer is using a Back To School voucher
- Track payments from NSW Government for Back To School voucher redemption
- Second Hand uniforms - accepting donations and organising second hand sale approx. once per term (volunteer assistance is needed for sorting clothes and running the sale)
- Report back to the P&C via monthly General Meetings
- It is necessary to be available at Kindergarten Orientation for new students to try on and ask questions about uniforms. Normally late November
- Similarly at the start of the school year, extra hours may be necessary to accommodate new families and their need to purchase uniforms.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $27.46 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Epping, NSW 2121: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Canteen Manager: 5 years (preferred)
