Lecturer - 3D Animation

- What’s the job?
- We are recruiting for a Casual Lecturer in 3D/Animation. We are looking for someone to start in January 2024 who can commit to 2 of 3 classes, which roughly equates to a commitment of 27 hours per week (including teaching, marking, prep, student support etc.). The role will be based in Melbourne (Flinders Campus). There will be a mix of online and face-to-face teaching.
- The classes we need taught are the following:

- Advanced 3D Asset Creation
- Real-time Animation
- Lighting and Look Development
- Animation
- Animation Principles
- You will be responsible for:

- Delivering lectures and workshops on campus and/or online via our Learning Management System
- Maintaining curriculum and course materials
- Grading student work and providing timely, constructive feedback
- Monitoring student progress and well-being, providing support where necessary
- As a Lecturer you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor students
- Provide creative direction and criticism to students.
- Who you are:

- Ideally, we’d love you to have previous experience teaching in the higher education sector, with a minimum master’s degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- We’re looking for applicants with high level proficiency in Maya, Substance Painter, Substance 3D, and Unreal asset and animation workflows.
- It would be an advantage (but not essential) if you had experience with topology and character work, high poly sculpting, Houdini and PBR in Unreal.
