CSIRO is looking for a motivated security professional to join the Cyber Security Resilience team as a Cyber Security Technical Advisor to provide security testing (including vulnerability assessment and penetration testing) and security advisory expertise to protect CSIRO’s valuable digital assets and reputation.

**Your duties will include**:

- Perform vulnerability assessments as well as deep vulnerability research and provide mitigation advice beyond patching, that cover multiple aspects at the people, process, and technology levels;
- Perform code analysis services to identify potential security issues;
- Perform baseline scanning services to discover potential vulnerabilities (e.g., discovery of operating system flaws, system and service misconfigurations);
- Compose and deliver professional written reports.

**Salary**:AU$105,806K - AU$114,500K + up to 15.4% superannuation - **(Negotiable)**

**To be considered you will need**:
**Essential**:

- Knowledge of how traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP), Open System Interconnection Model (OSI));
- Demonstrated experience in investigation of emerging CVEs to assess exposure, risk and determine if emergency patching needs to be enacted
- Ability to support technical teams with vulnerability remediation and false positives investigation

**Desirable**:

- Desirable to have experience using and managing Tenable Nessus vulnerability assessment and management solution;
- Desirable to have experience with malware analysis &/or exploit development;
- Desirable to have or working towards relevant security industry certifications from certification bodies such as EC-Council, Global Information Assurance Certification, Offensive Security etc
