We are seeking a **full-time education consultant** with expertise in** K-6 curriculum and pedagogy.**

**Who are we?**

AISNSW is the peak body supporting and representing independent schools in NSW, providing a range of services. The role of AISNSW is to support schools to further the ideals of independent education: choice, diversity, quality, opportunity, and excellence.

**What will you do?**

Your role will involve designing and delivering professional learning for primary schools. This may include modes such as in-school consultancies, remote learning sessions, group presentations, conferences, instructional coaching and more.

You will respond to requests from schools for support and advice in relation to K-6 curriculum and pedagogy. NSW is currently experiencing the largest reform to curriculum in 30+ years, and AISNSW is supporting schools with this. You will work with schools across the state, and with NESA in the syllabus development process. You will work across all syllabus areas, supporting schools with expertise in curriculum and pedagogy.

Your role will encompass these intentions.

**What will be your key responsibilities?**
- Supporting teachers with implementing the current and pending NSW Curriculum for all K-6 Key Learning Areas. This includes designing and delivering professional learning in a variety of modes.
- Supporting teachers to use evidence-based practices to design teaching and learning. This may involve practices such as observing, providing advice, modelling, and instructional coaching.
- Creating and using resources which support schools and teachers.
- Contributing to the organisation of AISNSW events.
- Contributing to a range of strategic projects and priorities within and beyond the Teaching and Learning portfolio.
- Representing AISNSW and the independent school sector on committees and in a variety of forums in a professional manner.
- Other duties as required by the Chief Executive.

**What skills and attributes will you have?**

- Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of the NSW K-6 curriculum.
- Up-to-date understanding of educational research in relation to pedagogical practice in K-6.
- Confidence to deliver and ability to engage groups of adult learners in professional learning experiences via a range of modes.
- Excellent organisational, and time-management skills.
- Highly relational, with strengths in building and maintaining professional relationships.

**What we need**:

- Full-time availability, Sydney-based role.
- Capacity to work in an office environment.
- Capacity to travel across and beyond metropolitan Sydney, including across regional NSW. At times this involves irregular hours, being away overnight, and sometimes consecutive nights. Travel involves flexible start and finish times, often pending flight schedules.
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- A current NSW Driver’s License.
- Undergraduate education qualifications in Education.
- Experience in teaching K-6 curriculum.
