Our company

Mackellar is one of Australia’s largest privately owned mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving. Due to continued growth of a project, we have a new opportunity for an experienced mine-site Surveyor.

Your new role

This role reports into the Senior Surveyor and is FIFO from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Rockhampton, or Townsville direct to site, working an 8/6 roster. Your duties include but are not limited to
- Measure volumes of material moved, and blasted and peg out areas to be mined and
- Survey mine configuration and control, locate blast and exploration holes and update site plans
- Maintain an effective mechanism for reconciling coal mining and overburden production with expected or planned performance
- Maintain systems to analyse and support the regular tracking and continuous improvement around loss and dilution in coal mining.

What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary studies in Surveying or relevant discipline
- Experience as a surveyor in open cut coal mining operations
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and roles involving reconciliation
- Sound computer skills in Vulcan, Microsoft Office and Point Studio or similar
- G1,8,9 & G2 (or willingness to obtain)
- Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
- CASA Drone License highly advantageous.
