Melbourne, Australia Wood PLC Full time

Wood is currently recruiting for a Planner with Electrical / Instrumentation background to join the site maintenance team based at Orbost Gas Plant near Orbost. This is a 3 month contracted position with a commencement date in March 2024.

Reporting to the Project Shutdown Manager, these positions will be responsible for preparing detailed job packs including QA documents in readiness for execution.
- Hand on development of detailed shutdown work packs.
- Develop comprehensive job packs that include all necessary information, such as work instructions, procedures, materials, estimates, tools and safety requirements.
- Collaborating with the shutdown manager, maintenance supervisors, operators and other stakeholders to establish realistic timelines and schedules for each work pack.
- Identify the necessary resources, including labour, equipment, materials and external contractors, required to execute the work packs effectively.
- Coordinating with various departments and teams to ensure seamless execution of tasks, such as procurement, logistics, engineering, and operations.
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for each workpack.
- Regularly updating project stakeholders on the progress of work packs, addressing any concerns or changes, and facilitating effective communication between different teams.
- Addressing unexpected issues that arise during the execution of work packs, making necessary adjustments to keep the work on track.
- Monitor overall project progress and achievement of major milestones
- Liaise with other planners within the team and share responsibilities as appropriate to deliver an effective planning service to the client.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a shutdown planner / completions engineer
- Strong stakeholder management - Internal/External
- A background in Oil & Gas or Construction will be preferred
- Engineering degree or Onsite experience will be highly considered
- Working knowledge using MS Project will be an advantage
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
