In an esoteric sector like Healthcare, accurate information, trust, and patient well-being are paramount. Edelman works at this intersection, and is building a people first Healthcare team to work on things that matter.

We are looking for a senior practitioner (AD/SAD level) to join the Health team in (either in our Sydney or Melbourne office) and manage public relations strategies and activities for our healthcare clients. The role is a combination of strategic planning, client relationship management, team leadership and collaboration, industry interest/expertise underscored by a curiousity in science.

This role will report into the Head of Health. The AD/SAD will need to be a commercially astute, comfortable with ambiguity, operate with a degree of urgency, and be a team-oriented individual who takes a customer centric approach to their work ensuring quality delivery against client briefs and the Edelman values.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- At least 7 years of relevant experience in communications marketing, clinical or teaching, research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing.
- Curious communicator with a strong interest in science and health.
- Understanding of/or experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is ideal.
- General awareness of the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), universal healthcare system is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to manage large projects, as well as teams, on multiple sizable accounts.
- Understands clients’ businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, regulators, media, third party and advocacy groups.
- Superior written and verbal communications skills. Strong earned media expertise, multitask maestro, manage assignments and support other team members.
- Familiar with best-practice integrated marketing communications approach.
- Experience in managing client relationships across multiple accounts, finance and budget knowledge.
- Confidently contribute to the health team and be a part of a growing portfolio.
