**About the role**:
The Maintenance Engineering Manager is a full-time position, based at our PGH Bricks site in Oxley, QLD.
Reporting to the Operations Manager this role is responsible for managing all aspects of engineering, maintenance, continuous improvement and capital projects across a 24/7 operation, supporting standard working hours.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Leading the Maintenance & Engineering team to ensure effective operation of the site to maximise efficiency and cost.
- Oversee the Operations Improvement Program within the Maintenance/Engineering. Active support of the plant improvement program in achieving progressive cost reductions as per plans.
- Effectively managing maintenance activities within allocated costs.
- Manage weekly maintenance meetings.
- Support maintenance of ISO9001 and AS5146 accreditation & ensuring adherence with all Quality System procedures.
- Support with annual budgets & forecasting
- Manage all service contractors to comply with WSHE requirements.
- Planning and scheduling maintenance and shutdowns as required.
- Develop an engineering and maintenance strategy including timeframes to deliver best practice maintenance systems.
- Co-ordinate the maintenance function to optimise the availability and productivity of plant and equipment (OEE improvements).
- Work with key stakeholders to identify and implement operation improvement projects.
- Implement the CSR Way Preventative Maintenance Program.
**About You**:
- Tertiary/formal qualifications in Mechanical (or Mechatronics) Engineering or relevant trade qualifications - preferred but not essential
- Previous Maintenance & Engineering Management experience within a unionised industrial or complex manufacturing operations environment - heavy industrial, FMCG, Food or Pharmaceutical.
- Previous experience managing multiple capital projects.
- Exposure with 5s lean principles
- Experience in successfully leading Maintenance, Engineering & Production teams & the ability to drive/improve a strong culture.
- Results-oriented and ambitious, with a strong focus on safety awareness & environmental knowledge.
- Sound understanding of computerised maintenance management systems (SAP preferred).
- Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and knowledge of a wide variety of equipment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels.
- Resilience, with an ability to work with stakeholders to get the job done safely, and to the right standard.
- An eye for continuous improvement and motivation to create change to improve processes.
