Role Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to join our growing healthcare team at **Lismore Doctors **. In this role, you will work at the front desk of our medical clinic and assist our patients and other visitors. Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Open and Close clinic as per set procedure
- Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
- Make appointments for patients
- Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
- Accurately process patient payments via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transaction.
- Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover.
- Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures
- Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously and helpfully
- Attend to patient enquiries
- Fill in the roster when staff is away, on holidays and sick leave.
- Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
- Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with appropriate scanning, faxing and filing of all documents.
- At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
- Complete recalls.
- Support the day to day operations of the medical centre.
- Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills.

Selection Criteria:

- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and willing to learn
- Experience with Medical software (BEST PRACTICE/MEDICAL DIRECTOR)
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated sense of being compassionate and empathetic when when dealing with patients
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
- At least 1 year experience as a Medical Receptionist in a medical practice is required
- Current Police Check
- Current Working with Children clearance
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate
- Immunisation Record
- Driving Licence/ Photo ID

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 24 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lismore, NSW 2480: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical admin: 1 year (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
