Design Technician

**3D Data Guidance** to recruit a Design Technician to work in conjunction with 3D’s software developer.

3D Data Guidance is an innovative company based in Toowoomba’s CBD who do some really interesting work in strategically rehabilitating earth works for their clients through the provision of proprietary simulation software. Clients are typically Mining Companies, Earthmoving Contractors and Reclamation Consultants. 3D helps clients achieve better rehabilitation outcomes at lower costs.

In this position we are looking for an intelligent, authentic and passionate individual who understands the value of working collaboratively.

**Some key tasks you can expect to perform...**
- the capacity to understand rehabilitation and/or remediation works within the mining industry
- experience in understanding costs of construction and project estimating
- creating plans and design reports using CAD and MS Office (software)
- designing and creating templates for presentations or reports
- 3D visualization for marketing to potential clients
- monitoring projects; creating reports from data surveys, reporting on active jobs, identifying construction issues, updating designs, sending projects to GPS Guided construction machines
- travelling domestically to sites, typically once a month, located predominantly within QLD and NSW

**What we are looking for...**

The Design Technician role requires someone who can think and problem solve, has plenty of energy, is adaptable and comfortable in front of the client.

To be considered for the role you will be a passionate learner who would like to work in a small family owned company which is headquartered in Toowoomba.
- Bachelor degree qualification in environmental science, agricultural engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, information technology or equivalent
- an engaging and warm personality style, you will genuinely thrive in a client facing role
- some knowledge of software such as 12D solidworks autocad
- prior experience in earthworks on a mine rehabilitation or civil/construction rehabilitation job, experience using High Precision GPS and machine guidance systems on earthmoving equipment
- current Drivers Licence
- the ability to travel extensively both domestically (QLD, NSW & WA) and in the future, overseas
- the capacity to pass regular on site random drug & alcohol screening conducted by customers
