How you'll make an impactWe are seeking a Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of Microsoft and Oracle RDBMS software and related supporting infrastructure. The key objective is operational excellence evidenced by availability and performance of infrastructure services.
On a day to day basis you will:
Ensure technical architecture, stability, resiliency, availability and operations of the Microsoft SQL and Oracle database platforms, and associated technologies such as clustering services, SQL reporting services and SQL integration servicesInstallation and automation of business application releases across the Microsoft SQL and Oracle platformsApply regular patches to the database systems to ensure security, stability, and performance improvementsThe management of Gallagher Bassett databases and software, while adhering to organisational values with a focus on enabling staffParticipation in technical research and development to enable continued innovation within the Information Systems teamResponsibility for the establishment of effective monitoring and alerting across the Microsoft SQL and Oracle database platformsParticipation in project teams as required to assist with the initiation and planning phases of Gallagher Bassett's project management methodology Participation in transition to support activities for key projects to ensure the successful ongoing operational support of all new systemsAbout youWe are interested in hearing from people who have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldEither hold, or have the required eligibility for an Australian Baseline Security ClearanceMSSQL and Oracle RDBMS Certification or equivalent experience Demonstrated expertise in database administration with Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle RDBMS VMware and Cloud experience Strong understanding of database architecture, stability, resiliency, and availabilityExperience with clustering services, SQL reporting services, and SQL integration servicesExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to complete afterhours work to minimise disruption to the business operationsWorking with us:
