Role Description/Criteria

The successful applicant needs to be committed to delivering a high standard of teaching and have a willingness to contribute to our vibrant and highly professional team, where student learning and wellbeing define who we are. A passion and enthusiasm for leading learning is essential. The teaching and learning at our school is contemporary, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork to create an effective learning environment for students. Knowledge and teaching experience of the Victorian Curriculum, with a willingness to develop programs to suit every child, are expected.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Support the values and ethos of the Catholic school and the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children in accordance with Child Safe standards.
  • Foster professional relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Collaboratively plan and work in a team with flexibility, creativity, passion, and enthusiasm.
  • View themselves as lifelong learners and foster this in students.
  • Show initiative and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
  • Understand and support the MACS 2030 Vision for Instruction and Engagement.
  • Have a sound knowledge of contemporary learning, emphasizing explicit instruction and cognitive load theory.
  • Assess and report student progress against the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Use data to improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Maintain professional knowledge in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
  • Incorporate the Digital Technologies curriculum confidently to engage students.
  • Be adaptable and have a sense of humor.
