About the Role
The DevOps Engineer (EL1) is a Full-time, ongoing position available as soon as possible for the successful candidate. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team delivering robust, scalable, and secure digital health solutions. Working closely with project teams, you will apply modern technologies and infrastructure practices to support the delivery of Australia's digital health agenda. Your role will be pivotal in enabling faster, more reliable, and well-tested software releases through agile methodologies and automation.
You will contribute to enhancing platforms such as Provider Connect Australia (PCA), My Health App (MHA), and SMART on FHIR forms, ensuring seamless integration, continuous improvement, and high system performance. You will play a key role in streamlining development and deployment pipelines, automating infrastructure, and ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems. Drawing on your expertise in cloud technologies, containerization, and system monitoring, you will build and maintain resilient environments that support continuous delivery. Working collaboratively with developers, testers, product owners, and other stakeholders, you will contribute to innovative, secure, and user-focused solutions that address the evolving healthcare needs of Australians.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a DevOps Engineer role, with a track record of delivering scalable and secure solutions in agile environments.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools such as, but not limited to MS DevOps, BitBucket, GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and SonarQube.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and AWS, including infrastructure-as-code using Bicep templates and Azure FrontDoor.
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with stakeholders such as; developers, designers, cyber security, and testing teams to maintain efficient deployment pipelines.
- Knowledge of Essential 8 security controls and experience in maintaining secure, compliant environments.
- Desirable - Relevant qualifications, such as a Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, along with certifications like Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.

Eligibility
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.
- Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
- Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
