The Opportunity

BMF is on the hunt for a commercially astute, proactive and strategically minded Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive future financial performance, operational excellence, and business transformation. This is a rare opportunity to reshape how the business operates partnering closely with the Agency CEO and Enero Group CEO to deliver predictable, profitable, and scalable growth. Specifically, this new COO position encompasses both the agency CFO and Operational Leader scope of responsibilities combined into a single role.

As COO, you'll lead BMF's finance and operations functions, bringing a sharp focus to margin management, scalable delivery, and data-led decision-making. You'll embed systems and processes that improve visibility, accountability, and performance unlocking the next phase of growth and maturity for the agency.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Partner with the Agency CEO and Enero CEO to shape and deliver EBITDA and cash flow goals for FY26 budget and beyond
  • Lead financial strategy, commercial planning, and scenario modelling
  • Optimise contracts and pricing strategies to protect margin
  • Collaborate with other agency COOs and CFOs on group-wide transformation

Operational Excellence

  • Work with Agency leadership to build scalable processes leveraging technology
  • Oversee operational compliance (timekeeping, margin controls, tech investment, freelancer management)
  • Rationalise tech platforms and drive automation, outsourcing, and offshoring as appropriate
  • Champion innovation in delivery, including AI adoption and delivery model design

Performance Reporting & Analytics

  • Lead agency-wide forecasting, budgeting, and KPI tracking
  • Analyse project and client profitability; implement tools for continuous improvement
  • Embed pricing and performance analytics to drive smarter decisions
  • Manage financial reporting, audit, tax, and compliance
  • Lead monthly EBITDA forecasting
  • Ensure strong cash flow forecasting and capex planning
  • Oversee WHS and regulatory responsibilities with robust governance

About You

Experience & Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualified with a proven track record in financial and operational leadership
  • Demonstrated success proactively leading performance improvement and transformation (systems, automation, and processes) in agency or similar professional services businesses
  • Deep experience in agency, media, marketing, or other client-service environments
  • Skilled in scaling operations and improving commercial outcomes
