Overview

Cloud & Application Engineer – Perth | Leading Mining Client

We're working with a leading mining company in Perth seeking a skilled Cloud & Application Engineer to design, build, and manage applications across cloud, OT/Edge, and research computing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and manage applications across cloud, OT/Edge, and research computing environments.
  • Proven experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes.
  • Strong background in API development and integration.
  • Hands-on expertise with data-intensive and high-performance computing applications.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud and cloud-native services.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and TypeScript.
  • Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Experience building automated DevOps workflows and release processes.
Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with open-source observability platforms.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices.
  • Exposure to scientific computing environments and workflows.
  • Understanding of containerisation for research applications.

GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Kubernetes (OpenShift/Managed), Cloud, Linux, Python, PowerShell, Bash, plus open-source monitoring stacks and specialist research software.
