Head of Brand Marketing (Societal Impact)

Role Overview:

This is a key leadership position within the UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE). The Head of Brand Marketing (Societal Impact) will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-performing marketing campaigns to amplify UNSW's societal impact framework.

Why this role matters

In line with our new 10-year strategy, this role will play a pivotal part in driving UNSW's global brand reputation and distinctive positioning. You will lead the strategic and operational marketing efforts of our Societal Impact marketing team, overseeing the development and delivery of B2C and B2B marketing campaigns designed to highlight the distinctiveness of the UNSW brand.

You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to craft marketing strategies and executional plans that align with business objectives and budgets, all supported by an evidence-based approach. This role will shape and implement an integrated Societal Impact Marketing Strategy that serves the University's priorities and engages target audiences.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver impactful campaign activity and manage associated content across B2C and B2B touchpoints with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead a team of three direct reports, ensuring effective execution of the Societal Impact marketing strategy.
  • Champion a data-led, customer-first approach, promoting collaboration, excellence, continuous improvement, and global best-practice creativity.
About You

We are seeking a marketing leader with extensive experience in developing and executing high-performing marketing campaigns. You will hold a relevant degree and have:

  • Proven marketing leadership experience within complex matrix organisations, with the ability to lead self and others through ambiguity and change.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic brand and marketing advice and operational support to Senior Executives.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an ability to set targets, plan complex work plans, and review return on investment.
