As one of the fastest-growing companies in the quantum sector, we've achieved several key milestones:

  • In November 2023, we announced an industry-first partnership with IBM Quantum Services, integrating our performance management software with all IBM quantum computers. Building on this, in September 2024, we started offering two services via IBM's new Qiskit Functions Catalog as an inaugural partner.
  • Designed and moved our global HQ offices and lab space into the first purpose-built (and award-winning) commercial and research facility for a quantum technology company in Australia.
  • Delivered real-world outcomes across the quantum sectors, including work with Australian Defence on software-ruggedized quantum sensing for navigation without GPS, featured in the New York Times.
  • In October 2024, announced a record-breaking expansion of our Series B funding round to USD $113M, with $59M USD of new capital.
  • Expanded our global presence to include Los Angeles, Berlin, Oxford, and recently, San Francisco.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Design, as an Industrial Designer, you'll work at the intersection of science, engineering, and user experience to shape the future of quantum sensing hardware. You'll collaborate with mechanical engineers, product designers, and researchers to create high-performance, ruggedized, ergonomic, and manufacturable products that seamlessly integrate physical and digital experiences.

You'll be responsible for bringing form, function, and detail to advanced technology—designing enclosures and physical interfaces that reflect Q-CTRL's values of technical excellence, user-centricity, and visual craft. From early concept to production, you'll help establish a hardware design language that is as intelligent as it is purposeful.
