Randstad is currently working with a Qld Government Department to find a Principal DataAnalyst for an initial 6 month contract with potential of extension. This role is based in Brisbane City, please only apply if based in Brisbane or willing to relocate. This role is paying$848.16 a day + super for PAYG (or $945.69 a day + GST for ABN).
Role Overview:
Working closely with the Manager of Business Intelligence and Customer Reporting, the Principal Data Analyst is responsible for leading the maintenance, development and implementation of various business intelligence and performance reporting methods and systems. As a senior member of the team, you will demonstrate a high skill set in contemporary technologies for data collection, data management and data analysis. Your involvement will extend to collaborating with and coaching fellow team members and clients at varying levels across the department to deliver data processing, business intelligence and reporting products.
Key Duties:
- Provide high-level strategic advice to senior management, other work units and stakeholders on matters related to data collection, data management and data analysis.
- Lead the processing, extraction, analysis, and presentation of internal and external organisational data in a cloud-based environment.
- Responsible for prioritising business requirements in conjunction with the leadership team of Data and Analytics.
- Develop and implement innovative cloud-based business intelligence solutions to present departmental data and statistics in an accessible and user-friendly manner for distribution to internal and external customers.
- Identify and implement best practice procedures to ensure that data processing and reporting output is relevant, replicable and that quality standards and timelines are met.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members undertaking the processing, extraction, analysis and reporting of organisational data.
- Lead the data governance activities of Data and Analytics by reviewing, evaluating, documenting, and updating processes and methodologies used in the maintenance and reporting of organisational data.
Different data sources require skills and knowledge in varying technologies such as:
- SQL
- Excel
- Azure data lake
- Azure Synapse
- Power Platform
- Microsoft Fabric would be highly regarded however not a requirement.
