OverviewBulls N' Bears is seeking an experienced financial markets person with exceptional writing abilities to take on the role of Deputy Editor, working out of the Bulls N Bears offices at The West Australian Newspaper in Perth.
You will be responsible for the Bulls N Bears editorial team, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Bulls N' Bears is about to enter a new era with the launch of its ASX listed company in-studio video interview podcast series and the successful applicant will also have over-arching responsibility for researching and pulling together show material and securing interviewees.
Responsibilities- Oversee a team of polished analysts and journalists, and be responsible for all Bulls N Bears ASX listed company news articles published online across multiple mainstream newspapers in the major capital cities in Australia, including The West Australian, The Business News, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Brisbane Times.
- Research and prepare for radio interviews with ASX-listed company CEOs for airing on 6PR (Perth), 3AW (Melbourne), 2GB (Sydney) and 4BC (Brisbane).
- Lead research and production for the in-studio video interview podcast series, including pulling together show material and securing interviewees.
- Edit and contribute to the work of senior analysts and journalists, and identify and initiate profile pieces on ASX-listed companies that are doing interesting things.
- Interact as a peer with public company CEOs and maintain strong relationships across the public markets space.
- Contribute to expanding Bulls N Bears' coverage across mining, exploration, and other sectors including health tech, agriculture, technology, and biotechnology.
- Solid background in financial markets or investor relations; exceptional writing abilities are essential; any prior writing experience is advantageous.
- Exceptional grammatical skills and ideally a solid understanding of small-cap ASX listed companies. Geology experience is a bonus.
- Experience that aligns with one of these profiles is desirable: stockbroker, geologist, experienced business/journalist/editor/analyst/mining writer, or senior public relations/investor relations specialist.
- You must be able to converse and interact as a peer with public company CEOs.
- Salary for the role will be in the six-figure range and will be directly commensurate with your public markets and writing experience.
- Applicants from other Australian states will be considered and some moving expenses may be reimbursed.
This is a full-time, Perth-based role working out of the Bulls N Bears offices at The West Australian Newspaper in Osborne Park with direct responsibility for the Bulls N Bears editorial team.
