We are seeking an Independent Contractor in the position of Private Language Tutor for Mandarin in 2025. Our Language Tutors provide students with native language conversation practice to complement their oral language skills for individuals or small groups of students. Tutoring takes place on school premises within the school day and afterschool.

At Ravenswood, we wish to excite students' interest in pursuing their studies both in the classroom and through co-curricular experiences. The successful applicant will prepare material for discussion in the target language for half-hour sessions with each student group, based on a current issue or topic (topics can be selected with the advice of the classroom teacher or the students themselves).

As an independent contractor, you must:
  • Have a current ABN;
  • Maintain valid and enforceable insurances, and provide evidence that the following insurances are maintained:
    • professional indemnity insurance of not less than $10 million;
    • public liability insurance of not less than $10 million.
