Investigation & Compliance Manager | Quality, Compliance & Child Safety

Add expected salary to your profile for insights

At AMIGA Montessori, we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children. As a Child Safe Organisation, we actively promote and embed child safety in everything we do. Our centres are equipped with CCTV, and we have a strict no mobile phone policy in all classrooms to support a safe and transparent environment. We take all allegations of misconduct seriously and respond immediately and thoroughly. All applicants will be subject to reference checks and required to provide a current Working with Children Check and proof of their right to work in Australia.

AMIGA Montessori is a rapidly growing, family-run early childhood organisation committed to providing safe, high-quality, and child-centred education across Victoria and South Australia.

We are now seeking a confident and experienced Head of Quality, Compliance & Child Safety to lead our organisation's regulatory, governance, and safeguarding frameworks. This role will be responsible for shaping our internal systems to meet—and exceed—legal, ethical, and educational standards, while staying true to our Montessori values.

Whether your background is in education, compliance, or law, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to drive quality and child safety across a growing network of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organisation's Child Safe Standards strategy, including monthly Child Safety Committee meetings
  • Oversee Assessment & Rating readiness and regulatory responses in line with NQF and NQS
  • Chair CCYP Committee and manage the full lifecycle of any reportable conduct or child protection matters
  • Conduct internal audits, mock visits, investigations, and root cause analyses to manage quality and compliance risk
  • Ensure consistency and quality in Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) across all services
  • Maintain all organisational policies, procedures, and governance documentation
  • Deliver targeted training to leaders on topics such as legislation, mandatory reporting, and WHS compliance

About You:

  • Background in education, law, compliance, or a regulatory authority
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, and child protection obligations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft policies and formal reports
  • Analytical and structured mindset with high attention to detail
  • Assertive and professional, able to confidently guide centre leadership teams through compliance processes
  • Comfortable working independently and across multiple sites

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Familiarity with DET, CCYP, and National Quality Framework processes
  • Experience conducting investigations or managing reportable conduct matters
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and risk mitigation strategies
  • Previous work in legal practice, regulatory investigations, or child safety roles

Your Impact:

  • AMIGA centres maintain or exceed compliance and quality ratings
  • All reportable conduct matters are resolved within legislative timeframes and with transparency
  • Our policies reflect legal best practice and are embedded in day-to-day operations
  • Teams are equipped with tools, training, and support to meet their obligations

What You'll Gain:

  • A strategic leadership role in a values-driven education organisation
  • A collaborative Executive Team and a flat, family-led culture
  • Opportunities for professional development in both governance and education
  • The chance to influence child safety and quality outcomes across Victoria and South Australia

This role is both in our Melbourne CBD Office and on site at different services.

Apply now to lead with integrity and drive compliance excellence in an organisation that truly values child safety.
