Varied role – not just 100% admin at your desk

Ultimo Catering & Events are seeking a team player who wants to be an active and integral member of our corporate catering, functions & events business.

We are a hospitality business & you will be part of the functions team based at our office in Claremont.

THE POSITION:

Coordinating our team of service staff.

Develop, maintain and communicate staff rosters for events and daily operations.

Allocate staff to functions and venues based on skills and experience.

Maintaining accurate records of staff confirmed for jobs &their hours worked.

Supervise, mentor and support waitstaff during events.

General admin duties (including inductions for different venues and sites), recruitment, onboarding and training.

Ensure service standards, dress codes, and protocols are upheld.

Address last-minute changes, staff call-ins, and shortages proactively.

Full time in office during peak season (October to December) then a mixture of working from office and working at functions and (training new staff). Manager to arrange times with you.

Reporting to Operation and Staffing manager.

ABOUT YOU:

Previous experience as a waitress/waiter in busy venues (e.g. events, restaurants, catering)

Supervisory or team-lead experience (formal or informal)

Excellent understanding of hospitality service workflows

Strong communication and organizational skills

Calm under pressure with a problem-solving mindset

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and varied shifts when needed
