Role: DC Facilities Engineering Supervisor

Location: Greystanes, NSW – on-site, reporting to Data Centre Manager. Supports 24x7 mission critical operations with shift staff and occasional weekend maintenance tasks.

About the role

Coordinate and supervise maintenance and installation activities within the data centre environment. Ensure maintenance is scheduled, fully documented according to standing operating processes and agreed schedules. Monitor daily activities and building services, identify issues, and escalate to Facilities Engineering Manager and offsite service providers as required.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Liaise with onsite clients and service partners at the Greystanes data centre to ensure a high level of customer service and compliance with SLAs and audit requirements.
• Maintain site reliability through identification of risk, faults and forecasted maintenance; apply risk reduction strategies through proactive repair & maintenance (R&M) works.
• Subcontractor management and supervision including maintenance, repair and new installations.
• Maintenance scope preparation with end-to-end delivery of all works.
• Provide breakdown response and situation management as required in site emergencies.
• Maintain building records including procedures and maintenance records to ensure ISO compliance.
• Ensure all work on site meets the agreed scope and quality standards.
• Provide safety management of all subcontractors and participate in internal WHS and environmental programs.
• Prepare, develop and maintain operational documents for change control and SOP compliance.
• Conduct daily documented building inspections and initiate repairs through service partners.
• Supervise operation of building equipment to ensure correct operation and alignment with PUE and SLA targets.
• Participate in site auditing activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of data and facility; comply with site and customer security policies.
• Coordinate and manage remote hands activities with 24x7 shift team and client requirements.

Requirements and Experience

• Experience managing subcontractors with a focus on safety and environmental compliance.
• Experience managing maintenance activities in a mission-critical environment (e.g., data centre, hospital, finance or large-scale commercial environments).
• Risk management mindset with relevant experience.
• Proven experience supervising data centre operations or other critical environments with emphasis on uptime, safety, and compliance.
• Experience leading and mentoring a diverse team of shift technicians and contractors in a dynamic environment.
• Hands-on experience with remote hands support (hardware installation, cable management, troubleshooting, console work) or willingness to learn quickly on the job.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Can-do team attitude with a strong focus on customer service for onsite clients.
• Documentation creation and administration skills.
• Reliable transport (car) due to site location.
