Field Technician Position at FSR (Security Industry)

Requirements:

  • Experience: Must have basic experience operating tools, including hand drills, circular saws, etc. Familiarity with taking measurements and basic building tasks is essential. Electrical experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift over 10kg.
  • Certification: A White Card is required. Forklift, scissor lift or working at heights certifications preferred but not mandatory - please outline within your resume if you hold any of these certifications.
  • Driving Skills: You must be able to operate a manual vehicle and tow a trailer to be suitable for this role. Please advise if you meet this requirement via your resume or cover letter.
  • Professionalism: A positive and professional demeanor is essential, as you will frequently be dealing with clients and representing FSR at a range of locations.
  • Independence: You'll often be working independently, so self-motivation, strong time management, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
  • Willingness to Learn: Ideal for someone looking to learn and advance their skills in a growing and changing industry.

Work Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Mawson Lakes location daily, then travel to other sites.
  • Work independently with daily deadlines, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of both permanent and temporary electronic security systems, including alarms, cameras, and access control systems. Work alongside an experienced technician, gaining hands-on experience in troubleshooting, wiring, system configuration, and general site setup. This role provides an opportunity to develop technical skills, learn industry best practices, and understand the full scope of security system installation and maintenance in real-world applications.
  • Work Environment: The majority of work will be on construction sites around South Australia. Other work may be undertaken in residential and commercial settings.
  • Equipment Provided: Required tools of trade and a work vehicle for use during shifts.
