Project Manager: Technology Development and Acceleration

Defence Trailblazer are seeking a dynamic Project Manager – Technology Development and Acceleration to collaborate with senior academics, industry partners, defence and university to support the development and execution of high‑level project plans and resourcing requirements. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager, Technology Development and Commercialisation and will join the existing team as the third Project Manager for Defence Trailblazer.

About the opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Defence Trailblazer for Concept to Sovereign Capability – a collaborative partnership between the University of Adelaide and UNSW. This opportunity calls for an agile individual who can think on their feet and draw on experience from a similar role, with strong stakeholder engagement skills to succeed.
Responsibilities- Support the development and execution of high‑level project plans and resourcing requirements in collaboration with senior academics, industry partners, defence and university stakeholders.
- Manage project lifecycle documentation and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes, including consultation, influencing and negotiation.
- Monitor budgets and allocate resources in line with procedures; respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Promote organisational values and maintain compliance with behaviour expectations.
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- The successful candidate may be required to hold or attain an Australian government security clearance.
- Experience working in the Defence environment is desirable.
- Some interstate travel throughout the tenure will be required.
