Overview

Social Worker - Grade 2 role at St John of God Health Care, delivering Medicare Mental Health services in Midland and Gosnells, Western Australia.


You will work independently, demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience, contribute to teaching, training and research, supervise students and mentor junior caregivers.


The Position

We provide a safe, welcoming space for locals to access free mental health support and services without a referral, Medicare card or appointment. The centres are staffed by qualified mental health professionals and people with lived experience and offer immediate support to adults in distress, including their families, friends and carers. We can also connect people with other support services, including employment assistance.


Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based senior Social Work services to consumers and carers within the clinical specialty area(s).
  • Provide Social Work assessment, intervention and evaluation at an advanced practice level for complex and general caseloads.
  • Ensure prioritisation and delegation of duties for own caseload and supervised caregivers.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the Social Work Service and Clinical Specialty, to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective multidisciplinary teamwork through professional communication and liaison with colleagues, consumers and service providers.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and clinical information systems.
  • Demonstrate reflective practice and commitment to professional development.
  • Support Social Work service by communicating issues and ideas for enhancing the service (to the coordinator of Social Work).

You will have senior clinical experience and leadership in a specialised area of practice within a healthcare setting, ability to undertake professional supervision and/or mentor junior staff and develop evidence-based, innovative clinical practices and quality improvement activities.


Successful applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Work and eligible for Mental Health credentialing.

  • Salary: $126,487 to $134,871 plus 12% superannuation
