Successful candidates will need to enrol in the Master of Neonatal Nursing program at La Trobe University, with the option to exit with a Graduate Certificate or Diploma if necessary. Graduates will acquire advanced clinical skills and in-depth knowledge essential for caring for premature, complex, and critically ill neonates. The education team will provide comprehensive support throughout the program, ensuring a structured and enriching learning experience.

About The FacilityOur major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. The Special Care Nursery at University Hospital Geelong is a level five neonatal unit serving the Barwon Southwest region. It is equipped to care for up to 20 infants simultaneously, with two dedicated resuscitation rooms. We provide comprehensive care for neonates from 31 weeks gestation, admitting babies from the birthing suite, postnatal ward, operating theatre, home, emergency department, and through transfers from other facilities. Barwon Health is developing a new Women's and Children's Tower to enhance paediatric, maternity, and neonatal services, designed to accommodate future growth and expand capacity, ensuring high-quality care close to home.
