Key Responsibilities

The Head of Department - Health & Physical Education is a crucial role that involves leading the development and implementation of programs, systems and processes regarding curriculum, teaching and learning in the HPE faculty.

This position requires expertise in curriculum, teaching and learning, workplace health and safety measures, strong leadership capabilities and a drive to lead faculty staff and students on a journey from good to great.

Main Objectives
  • Lead the curriculum focus and school department in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
About the Role

The successful applicant will work closely with staff to optimise conditions for and efficacy of teacher practice within the faculty. Additionally, they will be responsible for supporting two 'Pride Classes' in Bragg house, ensuring learning, wellbeing and engagement needs of all students are met.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a passion for education, and the ability to develop and implement effective solutions. They must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and parents.

We are seeking a passionate and committed leader who can inspire and motivate staff and students to achieve excellence. The successful candidate will require a strong understanding of curriculum, teaching and learning, and workplace health and safety measures. They must also have the drive and passion necessary to lead faculty staff and students on a journey from good to great.
