Senior Lawyer – (Information Privacy Law) - $840 to $1295 per day inc super - initial secondment to October 2025 with possible extension
The Role
Our client is seeking an Information Lawyer to support a team that provides legal advice on privacy, protected information, information sharing, and freedom of information (FOI) matters across the Agency. The role involves conducting legal research, providing advice, participating in client meetings, and engaging with external applicants when necessary.
The Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide legal advice on:
- Privacy law
- Preparing privacy and information-sharing advice, including on legislative information-sharing provisions
- Information law more broadly
The Requirements
The candidate must have excellent stakeholder engagement, coordination, and analysis skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team. A focus on delivering quality service to internal clients across various matters is essential.
Candidates should be familiar with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth), and experienced in reviewing projects involving personal information.
Legal qualifications and the ability to obtain a practicing certificate are required.
