Senior Sustainability Manager At Goodman:

The Senior Sustainability Manager will be responsible for delivering comprehensive sustainability outcomes. This includes overseeing the design, development, construction, and operations of Goodman properties across Australia, including data centres. The role will involve implementing innovative sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting sustainable practices throughout all stages of property development and management.

Day To Day:

• Responsible for the successful investigation and implementation of all environmentally sustainable design (ESD) activities related to achieving sustainability goals across the Australian portfolio
• This includes consideration for ESD initiatives such as construction and demolition waste and resource recovery, climate resilience, energy and water efficiency, operational greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, building life cycle analysis, building certifications, and innovations supporting positive environmental and social outcomes
• Source professional services proposals and scope of works from relevant consultants and partners, as required, to support in the delivery of above-mentioned ESD initiatives
• Support the Development team with Council, Department of Planning and/or authority submissions and RFIs as it relates to the project's approach to ESD, as required
• Project manage green building certification documentation, process and submissions, with the support of externally appointed Accredited Professionals/Assessors
• Consistently demonstrate subject matter expertise on environmental performance, materials and resources, policies and programs, and overall sustainability initiatives relevant to the Australian portfolio
• Review submissions and RFI/RFP from contractors and responses from design team and internal partner team
• Liaise with regional Sustainability and Innovation teams, where appropriate
• Consider and review available subsidies and grants available to support the implementation of ESD initiatives that may be relevant for projects, where appropriate
• Clearly communicate and articulate the value and impact of various ESD strategies to the relevant internal stakeholders
• Support the General Manager, Sustainability and sustainability team with the delivery of the Australian Sustainability Strategy
• Support the General Manager, Sustainability with annual and project-specific budgets to ensure the appropriate implementation of the Australian Sustainability Strategy
• Support the General Manager, Sustainability and sustainability team with voluntary and mandatory public disclosure commitments such as annual climate-related disclosures, SBTi, NGER, and other emissions reporting commitments
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including development managers, project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, customers, and regulators
  
  

Requirements:

• A relevant degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in the property sector or related industries, with a sound understanding of property, infrastructure and/or data centre development and environmentally sustainable design (ESD)
• A sound understanding of energy regulations and standards, such as NGER
• Strong understanding of green building rating tools (e.g. Green Star, LEED,NABERS) and their application to industrial warehouses and data centres
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, building energy systems, and renewable energy technologies as they relate to sustainable building design.
• Experience in the Property and/or Infrastructure industries, preferably with exposure to data centre, industrial warehouse and business park assets
