Country Manager (Based in Lae, Papua New Guinea)

About the Role: BOC is currently offering a rare and exciting opportunity for a seasoned senior manager or executive to join our team as the Country Manager – Papua New Guinea, on a full-time basis.

Based in Lae and reporting to the Business Manager, Pacific Islands, you'll be responsible for driving business performance across safety, sales, and operations. It's a hands-on leadership role where you'll have full ownership of the country's performance, with a strong focus on strategy, growth, and team development.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a broad and rewarding role with plenty of variety. Your role will include (but is not limited to):

• Hitting financial and non-financial targets – revenue growth, profit, market share, customer satisfaction, and overall operational efficiency.
• Providing strong, people-focused leadership through coaching, performance management, and team development, with a commitment to HSE excellence.
• Managing working capital, particularly with regard to stock levels and debtor management.
• Driving continuous improvement around cost, productivity, and safety.
• Supporting the development of new products, services, and market opportunities.

Who We're Looking For

We're after someone with solid experience in a senior leadership or executive role, ideally in engineering, operations, or supply chain. You'll need to have a strong commercial mindset and be confident managing complex business operations – especially if you've had experience with full P&L responsibility. Previous experience working in PNG or a similar business environment would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will also have excellent coaching and change management skills. The candidate must also possess strong strategic and motivational leadership qualities with effective analytical and decision-making skills.

We are seeking applications from excellent communicators who can look at the big picture while being involved in and maintaining day to day activity at the front line. You will have experience liaising with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and the capability to inspire, build and manage an effective and growing team.

You will be highly organised and results-focused, with the ability to critically analyse information to make sound business decisions.
