Junior Lawyer

Support various business units of the Australian Business Solutions Group as a Junior Lawyer, working closely with executives and senior managers on transactional, advisory, and regulatory compliance work across corporate, healthcare, intellectual property, privacy, property, and diverse industries.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Junior Lawyer to accelerate their career working alongside skilled senior lawyers in commercial law. You will provide support and guidance on contractual, commercial, regulation, and compliance matters, as well as work on projects including process and risk management procedures.
Main Responsibilities:- Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, including high-value revenue agreements.
- Support the General Counsel & Company Secretary and Head of Legal & Privacy Manager on project work and design/implementation of risk management, training, and compliance frameworks.
- Provide sound, pragmatic, and commercial legal advice on corporate, intellectual property, insurance, employment, property, and privacy law issues, contract matters, modern slavery, and NDIS/Aged Care regulation.
- Develop and maintain core legal precedents for use by business units.
- Assist with group insurance program management, including claims, employee investigations, dispute/litigation management, and company secretarial duties.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure group compliance with legal obligations and manages risk within agreed parameters.
- Brief and manage external counsel.
About You
You should have at least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience and have worked in a top-tier law firm in Australia. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders are essential. Experience in general commercial contracting, regulatory advisory work, and IT contracting is required. You must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment and enjoy collaborative work with team members.
