The Hospital
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed referral hospital offering a full suite of specialist services and is the largest in Central Queensland. With a strong focus on teaching, innovation, and clinical governance, it supports a broad catchment and serves as a key training site for medical students and registrars.
The Role
As a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, you will provide expert inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care across Central Queensland. You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, helping shape service delivery while supporting and mentoring junior clinicians and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Outreach and telehealth support to other CQ facilities will also be part of the scope.
Requirements
You must be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold:

The Location
Rockhampton offers an ideal mix of urban amenities and natural beauty - think riverside cafes, weekend markets, and quick getaways to the Great Barrier Reef, Capricorn Coast, or nearby national parks. With excellent schools, a thriving arts and sporting culture, and short commutes, it's a region that offers both professional challenge and lifestyle appeal.
What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We're the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we've helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it's important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we'll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.Once we have secured a job for you, we'll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
