Clinical Nurse Specialist - Public Health Communicable Disease Control (Immunisation)

This is for a Permanent Part-Time appointment.
What is our Clinical Nurse Specialist – Public Health Communicable Disease Control (Immunisation) role?
This position is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating public health disease control programs within the Perth metropolitan region. This includes:
- Practicing as a Senior Registered Nurse (SRN) in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart, acting as a clinical nurse specialist resource in immunisation, cold chain management and vaccine preventable disease.
- Upholding and functioning within the core values of the organisation and nursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity.
The Boorloo (Perth) Public Health Unit (Boorloo PHU) works to protect the population by managing infectious disease risk in the Perth metropolitan area. This includes monitoring disease trends, advising health care providers who diagnose disease and following-up close contacts to reduce spread in the community. Boorloo PHU is a metropolitan wide service that works collaboratively with immunisation service providers and other stakeholders to deliver WA immunisation programs.

- Demonstrated extensive experience in delivery of WA vaccination programs and the National Immunisation Program schedule, including planning immunisation catch-up plans, cold chain and cold chain breach management.
- Demonstrated experience working in the areas of prevention and control of communicable diseases.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating education and training for a diverse range of audiences.
- A Detailed Resume which sets out your qualifications, capabilities and experience relevant to this position.
- References - The names and contact details of two (2) referees. It is preferable for one of your referees to have been a recent supervisor.
Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
