What does a Graduate Water Resources Engineer in our Water team do?

  • Assisting in the design of drainage systems for urban developments, roads, and infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient stormwater management.

  • Supporting the development of flood models using industry-standard software (e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS) to assess flood behaviour and risks.

  • Applying Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) guidelines to hydrological assessments, catchment analysis, and stormwater design.

  • Contributing to highway and road drainage design, including culvert and stormwater pit layout, pipe hydraulics, and erosion control measures.

  • Supporting the assessment and design of water quality treatment measures, such as bio-retention basins or wetlands, to meet sustainability goals.

  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, flood mapping and calculations for client and regulatory submissions.

  • Processing and interpreting GIS flood model results to produce flood maps, catchment delineation, and spatial analysis for planning and design.

  • Collaborating with experienced engineers and professionals across disciplines to develop holistic water management solutions.

  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to support project approvals and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Work on a variety of exciting infrastructure, urban development, and flood management projects.
