Title: Principal Process Engineer

The Opportunity

You'll be a key member of our Water team who have secured projects that will change how the Australian water landscape operates forever. We are providing a more efficient and integrated water system to cater to the growth of NSW and maintain and enhance outstanding environmental outcomes. Our Water team offers services across the full water cycle, delivering major pipelines, large pumping stations, advanced water, wastewater and recycling treatment.

We address critical water cycle challenges and provide solutions through adopting flexible program delivery models and ongoing asset management programs. KBR have significant work in hand supporting key water utilities such as Sydney Water, Water NSW, South East Water, Melbourne Water, SA Water, Urban Utilities and Unity Water to achieve phased savings in capital expenditure, while delivering the best environmental and community outcomes.

You will play a vital role in the water team, leading projects, mentoring people, providing technical oversight, managing client relationships and commercial direction. Our team is also exploring new ways to integrate virtual reality and artificial intelligence on projects, offering you the opportunity to future proof and broaden your skills in the digital sphere.

Who are you?

You are a design-focused Principal Process Engineer who is motivated by achievement and outcome-focused. Your experience with design practices for water & wastewater across major water utility assets will be highly valued. You possess a pragmatic approach to the development of constructable design solutions and have proven commercial acumen in the delivery of water infrastructure.

We have long-term panel contracts in both consulting and design and construction, enabling us to offer work opportunities from strategies through all stages of design to construction and commissioning. Our digital capabilities in artificial intelligence offer a platform for you to take your process engineering to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of large water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Lead investigations, and preparation of technical reports, designs and drawings, contract documents and technical specifications
  • Lead the preparation of large and small bids
  • Provide guidance to process engineers across the company
  • Maintain relationships with clients
  • Assist the Industry Leads in business strategy development
  • Promote and practice KBR's Zero Harm policy
