Overview

The Portable Long Service Authority is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018 and related regulations. The Authority provides a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme for workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries, allowing benefits to build up over time in the industry rather than with a single employer. About The Role

The Authority is seeking an experienced lawyer to work on a diverse range of matters within its growing team. The work is varied and designed to be interesting, challenging and fulfilling. Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the Senior Lawyer will provide practical, technically sound legal advice to all business units within the Authority. You will develop relationships with internal stakeholders and deliver presentations in an accessible and understandable manner. You will join a high-performing, cohesive team that values work–life balance and supports development. This position is located in Bendigo but can also be carried out from our Melbourne office.

About You
  • You will be an experienced lawyer, admitted to practice law in Victoria.
  • You will be experienced in either administrative law, criminal law, contract law, debt recovery or employment and industrial relations.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor junior staff and build effective working relationships.
  • You will have attention to detail with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to adapt in a high performing team.
