Integrated Health Promotion Officer role at Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS).
Location: KDHS campuses in Kyabram, Stanhope and Tongala. KDHS is a medium-sized rural health service delivering acute, subacute, residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. KDHS is a culturally diverse workplace that promotes inclusion and pride in our community.
Note: This is a temporary position / leave replacement, part-time, fixed term with flexible working arrangements.
About The RoleThe Integrated Health Promotion Officer is responsible for supporting the ongoing key health promotion priority areas for KDHS. The role will engage and work collaboratively with local stakeholders and the community to develop, deliver and evaluate health promotion activities. The officer will identify population health trends and emerging health needs using methods such as statistical data analysis, research and consultation. The role will plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives across the KDHS catchment through a holistic approach to maintaining and improving health and preventing illness, addressing physical, mental, social, cultural, spiritual and environmental aspects of population health and wellbeing.
EssentialAbout You- Tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, community development or health-related field.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing and evaluating primary prevention strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects and delivering education in health promotion.
- Experience with placed-based principles for primary prevention.
- Understanding or experience in planning primary prevention initiatives.
- Experience establishing and working with a broad range of individuals and organisations to develop collaborative relationships.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in a team.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and prepare written reports and correspondence to a high standard.
- Experience in working with marginalized and culturally diverse populations.
