We are searching for a flexible, resourceful speech therapist to join our team.

The speech therapist's responsibilities include:

  1. Performing patient assessments.
  2. Developing individual treatment plans.
  3. Liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Administering therapy and monitoring progress.
  5. Ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques.
  6. Working with patients from different backgrounds and making house calls.

To be successful as a speech therapist, you should be passionate about social and biological science, language, and human anatomy. Exceptional Speech Therapists are caring, adaptable, and able to use available resources to find solutions.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  1. Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  2. Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
  3. Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
  4. Educating patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
  5. Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
  6. Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
  7. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  8. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
  9. Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
  10. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
  11. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
  12. Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.
Speech Therapist Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in speech-language therapy.
  • Experience with certain conditions or working with specific age groups may be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
  • Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.
  • Relevant license and certification.
  • Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
  • Familiarity with database management software.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
