About the Role

This Client-Side Project Manager role reports to the Project Director and is responsible for managing the Early Works Beveridge Intermodal Rail Project.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee project management and delivery, ensuring timely completion within budget and safety regulations.
  • Chair internal meetings with stakeholders to address project activities impacting terminal operations.
  • Perform contract administration tasks, including site meetings, inspections, and progress claim assessments.
  • Monitor resource allocation to meet project demands efficiently.
  • Identify potential conflicts between project activities and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office for gating approvals and stage reviews.
  • Prepare reports on project progress and activities for senior management.
  • Liaise with Legal Counsel staff for legal and procurement matters.
  • Secure necessary authority approvals for project commencement.
  • Direct and oversee contractor activities, ensuring efficient communications and reporting.
  • Review contractor performance and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and heritage protection plans.
Your Background
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in major infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of site management on large-scale, complex projects in rail, intermodal, or transport-related sectors.
  • Substantial experience in Tier One/Two contracting environments.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management, or project management highly desirable.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on environmental and cultural heritage considerations.
  • Strong financial and contractual acumen, with experience in budget control and negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental and heritage compliance, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
