Job Title: Finance & Accounting Graduate

Purpose of the Role:

Join our creative finance team and begin your career in finance and accounting This role offers a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and committed individual to assist our senior staff and contribute to our team's success.

  • Meaningful Contributions: Take on essential tasks, allowing senior staff to focus on strategic initiatives and important projects.

  • Workload Management: Help manage critical tasks and peak period workloads, such as end-of-month activities.

  • Inclusive Environment: Share responsibilities across finance teams and work together.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Banking: Posting bank charges, customer receipts, and payments to sub-ledgers. Preparing bank reconciliations.

  • Doubtful Debts: Reviewing collections and preparing debt provisions for customers. Escalating issues with customer accounts.

  • End of Month: Posting journals for General Ledger accrual accounting (general accruals, fixed asset depreciation). Ad hoc schedules. Learning key report generation from Business Central (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Aged Debtors, etc.).

  • Variance Analysis/Cost Examination: Investigating queries or issues in cost accounts (e.g., travel, insurance) for a cost center and/or project.

  • GST/VAT Preparation: Monthly and quarterly preparation.

Relevant Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in Commerce with an Accounting and/or Finance major or other relevant studies (completed or in progress final year).

  • Understanding of financial and management accounting.

  • Interest in studying CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) or CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Knowledge of accounting software is highly regarded but not mandatory.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
